Baby Free Night!!

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night!  And I'm home alone.  I love BeBe and Hubs with everything, but it's so nice to have the house completely to myself.  After I dropped BeBe off, I went to the Disney Store and got stuff for her Easter Basket. And I went to dinner by myself at Red Robin (yum!).  I came home, cleaned the house, and I'm currently sitting in  my spotless living room watching Breaking Dawn 2.  I finally watched the first one last night, and couldn't wait to not watch the second one.

For nails, I don't have pictures on the computer of the mani I have on now.  It's just Color Clubs Angel Kiss holo again.  But I do have something for you.  It's how I get rid of mild staining and dry, gross cuticles.  All it takes is a new, clean toothbrush, some body scrub, and warm (not hot!) water.

I wet my hands and spread scrub across my cuticles like so:

Such gross cuticles and fingers, thanks to dry weather, warm water, and acetone polish.  Then I wet the toothbrush and scrub, scrub, scrub.  I work up a pretty decent lather, but don't scrub too hard where you would damage the cuticle.

And then just rinse and repeat on the other hand.  I follow up with lotion or hand cream, and always cuticle oil. It makes my hands look so much nicer, and it really helps after swatching.

I usually do this once or week or so.  Remember, taking care of your cuticles is super important since they shield your nails from any infection, so try to keep them moisturized and pushed back.  Do your best not to cut them, and if you need more help, try a cuticle remover, which will assist in pushing them back.

Essies Good to Gold

Hello ladies (and gents?).  And helllooooo weekend :)  Personally I'm more excited for tomorrow. My awesome little sister is taking BeBe for the night, and Hubs works nights, so I will have the house all to myself!!  I've got to go Easter shopping at the Disney Store, and then I'm taking myself to dinner.  Where I can eat my food before it gets cold, and I don't have to worry about *someone* not being in their seat, and spying on the people around us.  Heaven.

On to the polish.  I'm currently obsessed with mint green polish, and gold polish.  And then I saw them together on Instagram.  The girl on instagram used Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet and Essies Good as Gold.  I bought Good As Gold at Target last night.  It's the most gorgeous gold I've seen, and the formula is outstanding.  It's the first Essie I've owned, and I'm not disappointed!  Since then I've done two manis with the gold.

The base on this polish is Candy Coated by Sinful again, from the Sugar Rush collection.  I then stamped with a Bundle Monster plate with the Essie, and the glitter is Jewel Heist from Wet N Wild's Spoiled line.  This is one of my new favorite manicures, I love the gold with the pastel.

Tonights manicure was pretty similar with a different base color and a different glitter and different stamp.
The base tonight is Orly's Coachella Dweller.  The stamp is still from the Bundle Monster 2012 stamp plate collection, and the glitter is Winter Wonderland from Kleancolor.  This one isn't my favorite. I much preferred last nights mani.  And I think tomorrow I will be doing the gold as a base color for some fun nail art, since I'll have plenty of time :)

Enjoy your night!

Also, I started a Facebook for the blog this morning. You can search for Diary of a Polishaholic.  And again, tomorrow is the last day to vote in the nail art contest.  I've fallen to third place, but the 1-3 places get to move on to the second and final round of voting. Where Have You Been All My Life?!

Sorry this review took so long.  I wound up catching up on Once Upon A Time with Hubs last night, and never wound up washing my hair last night.  So I saved it for tonight.  Holy amazeballs!! This is an AMAZING shampoo!!

If you remember, I got a free Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Kit from my first BzzAgent Campaign.  I used it on BeBe last night, and her already perfect hair was even more soft, and I didn't think that would be possible!

So tonight, I used it on myself.  I have an issue when it comes to using new shampoos and conditioners.  Mostly conditioners.  I have a lot of very thick hair, so it's hard to find a conditioner that makes my hair manageable, silky, soft, and shiny.  And this shampoo has it all! ALL!!

I used the shampoo, then the one minute hydration treatment, and finally the conditioner.  I could tell from the first minute I rinsed the product out of my hair that it was going to be good.  When I combed through my hair once I got out of the shower, it was like silk!  Not a single snag or problem. I can't remember the last time I had that happen!!  And when I dried it, it just got even better. My hair is silky and shiny, and smells amazing.  I am so beyond happy with this line, I can't believe it.

Bottom line, I would buy this again and again.  If you're interested in trying this, I have seen it on sale this week at both Walgreens and CVS for 3/$10.

As far as nails tonight, they are super boring.  I did a super cute caviar with Sinful's Candy Coated and some pink caviar that BeBe picked out.  It looked awesome, and then I washed my hair in a ht shower.  They peeled off as soon as I was out.  So I just finished off the whole hand with Candy Coated.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have something a little more fun for you to look at!!

My First BzzAgent Campaign!

It's here!  My kit finally arrived!

I got a complete set of the Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge.  It included a full sized Shampoo, Conditioner, and 1 Minute Treatment.

I'm not going to shower until after BeBe goes down for the night, but I wanted to get my first impressions and what not.
Here's a fun fact about me, I'm a smeller.  I smell EVERYTHING.  I'm the girl who can actually stand to be in Sephora or Abercrombie with all the scents.  And I can walk down a perfume wall and smell everything they have.  I love scents.  So as soon as I opened the box the first thing I did was smell the products.  I love the scent! It's got a tropical fruit like scent.  Like kiwi or melon. It's nice and fresh. The conditioner seems nice and thick.  I don't like conditioners that are too watery or runny.  I don't think they work very well in my hair; so the fact that this conditioner is thick is a good sign for my thick hair!
I'll probably use this on BeBe tonight in her tub, not that she needs to repair dry or damaged hair.  Why do toddlers and preschoolers get such gorgeous hair.  They don't appreciate the perfect hair they have been given!
I'll update after I use it on myself.  They claim its supposed to give you long lasting shine as well as hydration, so I'll let you know what I think shortly!!

Stamping Today

I've been at a bit of a loss for nail art ideas lately.  There's a ton I want to try or think about, and when it comes down to it, I'm having trouble figuring out the logistics.  Maybe I should stop looking for ridiculously complicated stuff and stick to the basics for now.  So tonight, I saw a gorgeous picture on Instagram and I loved the colors she used.  And she stamped, which is something I haven't done on my own nails in quite some time.  So I took her inspiration, and this came from it.

I wish the gold was a little more defined. I think I need maybe a brighter gold?  Don't get me wrong I really like it, I just wanted it to stand out a little more.  I used Orly's Coachella Dweller and Luxe for the stamp.  Can I tell you how much I love this green!?  So much better than the first time I swatched it.  I feel like because it had been sitting outside when they were delivered and weren't room temperature that is why it didn't go on very easily the first time. This time was a charm :)

So creamy and gorg, right!?  And the Seche Vite makes it so shiny.  I almost left it just the way it was, but then I'd get bored and take it off right away.

Unfortunately, I may have to go to a different mani every other day for a little bit.  See that little nubbin up there? I think the acetone everyday is affecting the strength of my nails. I lost the pinky nail, and then a piece of the tip of my thumb nail. It's not the worst thing in the world, but I am known for my daily manis.  It's just for a week or so to strengthen my nails. I may even go a day with no polish, just treatment this weekend, yikes!  I can't remember the last time I went a whole day with no polish on!

P.S.  Voting is still going on for the Facebook nail art contest, if you could please vote for me HERE.

Orly Swatches!

I think I missed a day or two this week, and for that I apologize.  I have nothing exactly new to show you, except for swatches of the Orly's I bought last week. Well, three of the 6 colors.  Two as you know are being given away HERE, and one is, well it's a secret for now.  So for you I have High on Hope, Coachella Dweller, and Elation Generation.  And surprisingly, High on Hope is my favorite.  I was so excited for Coachella Dweller, and I do love it, but High on Hope is so much nicer and prettier than I expected!

This is gorgeous High on Hope.  It's a dark blue/purple with a holographic, almost duochrome sheen to it that takes this to a whole other level! I swatched it on one hand on the day I received them, and Coachella on the other, and again today I have this on both hands.

Coachella Dweller is a pretty pale/mint green cream.  It's thinner than I expected it to be, so it took three coats for it to be this opaque.  This is a perfect spring color, and my second favorite in the line.

Elation Generation is my least favorite, but I do like it.  The color is a weird color on my skin.  It seems a little bland against my skin tone, but it's a pretty color none the less.  I like the glitter content in it, it's full of it and goes on nicely.  It also came off easily, which is ALWAYS a plus when it comes to glitter.

Which one is your favorite of the line? Why?

Don't forget about the giveaway, I linked it above.  Also, I'm in a facebook nail art contest, and I would appreciate it if you could go here and like my photo.  It should bring up my leopard and pink nails from a few weeks back. I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks!!

It's like Christmas! **GIVEAWAY!**

My Orly Hope and Freedom Fest 6 pack came today!! I couldn't believe how quick the shipping was; I ordered them Tuesday!

I really only wanted four of the colors: Elation Generation, Peaceful Opposition, High on Hope and most of all, Coachella Dweller.

However, the 6 pack was too good of a deal to pass up!  And here's the exciting part.  To celebrate 1100 page views, I'm going to be giving away BOTH Boho Bonnet and Melodious Utopia to one lucky reader! (Starting March 1st)

Melodious Utopia is the yellow, and it has a really pretty orangey/copper shimmer hidden inside, that I wished the camera picked up!  Boho Bonnet is the blue and it's a creamy pale blue, perfect for spring.

Good luck!! And thanks for reading.

Right now I can only open this giveaway to US followers. Someday I hope to open to international readers.  Thanks!

*DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with Orly, this is NOT a sponsored giveaway.  I purchased these items for the giveaway.  They are brand new and never used.
